Janet L. Burns was born and raised in New York. She completed the automotive technology program at Santa Barbara City College where she earned an A.A. degree. Janet's diverse background includes working as an ASE certified automotive technician, a graphic designer, and selling her own homemade soap. Janet's most notable roles include a deeply troubled woman who will stop at nothing to keep her family together in the Investigation Discovery series, Murder Calls (2017); a no-nonsense but warm-hearted shop owner in the poignant drama Assorted (2016); and a tough, grieving grandmother in the gritty drama Bias (2018). An adventurous traveler, Janet has sand-boarded Namibian dunes, canoed the Zambezi River, and skydived in central California. While living in Israel she frequented Jerusalem's old city and desert wadis. She recently restored a historic Victorian home in a coastal town in northern Wales. Janet lives near Savannah, Georgia with her human and three cats.
