Charles Martin was born in London yet now works and lives internationally. His debut drama The Giblet Boys won BAFTA for Best Children's Drama. Charles then directed the RTS Award winning My Life As A Poppat. In 2007 he won the BAFTA for Best Breakthrough Talent and went on to direct the first 2 generations of the acclaimed youth series Skins. Venturing into adult drama Charles directed an episode of BAFTA winning series Wallander before helming Olivia Coleman's first dramatic role in RTS Award winning RUN. He was then instrumental in creating the Marcella franchise - helming the first two seasons that saw Anna Friel awarded with an Emmy. Most recently Charles has directed episodes of US shows Counterpart and For Life in Berlin and New York.
