Alex Montaldo

Alex Montaldo

Alex Montaldo is an actor based in New York City and Los Angeles. Since he was a teenager, he has been drawn to acting and music through his love of make believe and his fascination with invented personas like David Bowie's. His formal studies began in 2008, when he was offered a full scholarship at the Lee Strasberg Institute, Conservatory Program in New York City. After he graduated in 2010, he went on to act in many plays in New York City and Los Angeles. While pursuing his acting career, in 2014 Alex co-founded stoPD (support and training to overcome Parkinson's disease), a bi-coastal non-profit organization that provides physical training, art programs and support for people living with Parkinson's. Thanks to his interactions with many Parkinson's sufferers, and inspired by his friendship with screenwriter and journalist Aaron Latham, who had been living with Parkinson's for several years, Alex realized that acting technics and vocal training could be used to improve some of Parkinson's symptoms, and together they embarked on a unique revival of American classic 'Golden Boy'. Alex played the lead role of Joe Bonaparte, Latham directed and co-produced, and the cast included professional actors with Parkinson's disease in some of the key roles. The show was very well received by critics and audiences, garnering interest from local and National media, such as CBS, NBC, CNN and NPR. On the heel of Golden Boy's success, Alex and Mr. Latham went on to collaborate on several other projects, including the play 'Orphans', by Lyle Kessler, in which Alex played the lead role of Phillip. Currently, Alex can be seen in 'The Seeding', a psychological folk horror directed by Barnaby Clay and distributed by Magnolia Pictures. 'The Seeding' premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2023 and has been acquiring a cult following since its commercial release in January 2024. Alex's role as the ringleader of a pack of feral kids, showcases his propensity for portraying offbeat, physically demanding characters and his strong screen presence. Alex's music can be found on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and all major streaming platforms, under the pseudonym of LYNX. Alex is an avid tennis player, kayaker and boxer as well as a regular fixture on Santa Monica beach volleyball courts. Alex is a staunch advocate for animal rights.
